Hop Across the Pond

This will be the first of several posts about our trip to the United Kingdom!  Yes, yes, we know, about friggin' time.  We're finally sharing our pictures and stories with you!  Now let the rambling begin.

Bonus points if you can name this landmark.
We started our trip out of Chicago, because we could get a direct flight into London (side note: that is the best way to travel).  Before leaving US soil, we were lucky enough to experience the awesomeness that is the United Club (thanks, Mom).

Free drinks!
After enjoying the luxury that us unwashed masses normally can't afford, we boarded our plane (near the very back) and flew off into the night.  Tyler enjoyed the flight; Mary, however, didn't get any sleep.

We landed, rode the Tube to a station near our hotel (with an extra stop because Tyler can't read a map), and walked in the rain to our hotel room.  Which, I might add, was tiny.  And in the basement.  But it was a place to sleep and we were tired, so it was good.

First impressions of London: crowded and rainy.

UK posts to be continued.
